Creating a new smile with Porcelain Veneers in Beverly Hills

We’ve seen porcelain dental veneers on commercials and on makeover shows.  The American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry has named porcelain veneers as one of the top three cosmetic dental procedures.  But what are dental veneers?  And how can they improve your smile. Porcelain dental veneers are custom-made, thin ceramic shells that are placed over the natural teeth to create a new, whiter smile.  Veneers change a patient’s smile by addressing the following

Fixing Misaligned Teeth with Porcelain Veneers

n years past, the only option for patients who had crooked teeth was orthodontia. Today, porcelain veneers can be a great solution for patients who are looking to correct their misaligned or malformed teeth. Veneers can also be used to correct gaps or spaces between teeth. The veneers allow us to create a beautiful, natural looking smile in only a few office visits. For more information on veneers, contact us.

Digital Bite Recorders

In the past, when we had to determine a patient’s bite we used articulating paper. Now we use a digital bite recorder. The recorder’s sensors allow us see how the teeth meet from when they first touch until the bite is fully closed. As the recorder accurately measures the patient’s bite, the information is transferred to the computer screen for us to determine how to proceed with the patient’s case.

Digital X-rays Instead of Traditional X-rays

We are always looking for healthier procedures and options at our office, which is why we use digital x-rays instead of traditional dental x-rays.  With a digital x-ray, the patient is exposed 90% less radiation, which makes it less harmful to the patient.  Also, by using a digital x-ray, we are able to process the images in a few moments rather than waiting 20-30 minutes for the traditional images to be exposed.  And, if needed a digital x-ray can be sent by email to other dental offices

Mini-Dental Cameras Provide a Close-up View of your Teeth

In addition to the normal dental mirrors and equipment used to examine teeth, we also use a mini camera at our office.  The mini-dental camera allows us an even closer look at the patient’s teeth.  We can then review all the dental problems and improvements with the patient on a video screen right from the dental chair.

Why are some dental veneers and crowns made of porcelain?

Porcelain, also known as dental ceramic, has been used for veneers, fillings and other dental procedures because of both its natural look and sturdiness.  The color of a porcelain veneer or filling can be customized so it matches and blends in with the color and shape of the patient’s natural teeth.  Because porcelain is a very durable material, it can withstand the pressure associated with chewing, which is why it is used for dental crowns.  To find about more about porcelain veneers or cro
