One alternative to getting veneers is whitening your teeth. If your teeth are slightly crooked then cosmetic re-contouring of the teeth can sometimes be done. Re-contouring is when the teeth are shaved down slightly to straighten them out. Crooked teeth also can be straightened with the use of braces. Those are the three options.

Will drinking milk make my teeth stronger as an adult?
As an adult, drinking milk to make teeth stronger is not as effective as it is in a growing child. In children, milk is beneficial when the teeth are being formed because the calcium helps make the teeth stronger. However, if the body is calcium starved, one of the places it can go to find calcium is the teeth. So, in that case, drinking milk can help adults keep their teeth stronger.

A waterpik is a helpful device that uses the pressure of the water to clean between the teeth, but floss would clean better than a waterpik. However, for patients that have a lot of spaces and bridgework, we recommend they use a waterpik in addition to flossing.
